SLC Ballarat
The brief to the Australis PA Team, to install a speaker system that meets the needs of a multipurpose sports venue, working within the confines of a the challenging space – constrained by venue accessibility and load bearing capacity of the floor - for install and ongoing maintenance. The final solution, Lab Gruppen amplification with 4 flexible output channels and up to 5,900 Watts channel output paired with the Turbosound Madrid Loud Speakers.
“The new P.A. system on the show court has some pretty impressive specs, with 8kw of Lab Gruppen amplification driving by a bunch of Turbosound Madrid series speakers, mounted on in-house custom designed mounting brackets (or nearly 500kg of laser cut jigsaw puzzle), wrangling nearly 500m of heavy gauge speaker cable through the venue, some creative rigging techniques to get it all several metres in the air, and a handful of other technical hurdles to get it to all work, has resulted in system that should keep audiences hyped up during games for many years to come!”
Olympic and Commonwealth games

LAKE LM44 speaker processors were seleycted for this project to facilitate the mammoth task of controlling a huge number of speakers for the Openinging and Closing ceremonies of both the Olympic Games in Sydney and the Commonwealth games in Melbourne.
